Welcome to the Fordham Sports Law Forum!

Just as those that came before us, we are committed to making the Forum one of the strongest sports law programs in the entire nation.  Our organization is comprised of members of the student body who are interested in pursuing careers in the sports industry, following in the path of famous FSLF alumni who went on to have careers as: sports attorneys, agents, and general managers of professional teams.

We offer our members invaluable litigation and alternative dispute resolution experience, as we send teams of students to compete in sports law advocacy competitions around the country.  Additionally, our Symposium and Basketball Competition present incredible networking opportunities with some of the most famous and important names in sports.

The “sports law” field itself used to be a relatively small niche, but in recent years it has become one of the most prominent legal practice areas.  It seems that every day we are reading about original and fascinating legal issues in the news that range from: concussion related lawsuits, negotiations of collective bargaining agreements, and complex litigation surrounding athlete’s intellectual property.  Not coincidentally, over this time frame, the Forum has seen a huge spike in its membership.

With all that being said, we are very excited to lead the Forum in this period of expansive growth in the sports law industry.  Prospective law students, members of the student body, and all else interested in pursuing a career in sports law, should feel free to contact us at FordhamSportsLaw@gmail.com.
