Advanced Legal Research: Transactional PracticeThis skills course will provide students with instruction in legal research and other, related skills useful in such sophisticated transactional practices as securities, real estate, and project finance. In addition to the topics listed below, the course will include special classes. One class may consist of a panel of attorneys who supervise young associates in transactional practices and librarians who work with attorneys in those practices. The last class will be devoted to a final meeting, in which students will present the research they have done for their final memoranda described below. The course will presume that the student is an associate at a large firm, with concomitant access to materials. While the course will provide information on cost-effective approaches, the presumption will be that speed and accuracy matter most.
