Fordham Law LL.M. Alumni Reunite in ParisJuly 15, 2008
June 20 and 21 found 73 Fordham LL.M alumni and their guests gathering in Paris for a reunion. They were greeted by Dean William Treanor and 20 Fordham deans, faculty and administrators. Attendees represented 19 countries and four continents. Most of the party stayed at the Hotel Opera Richepanse in Paris.
Friday night, a reception was hosted in the Champs-Elysees offices of Sherman & Sterling, the international law firm. Saturday evening saw cocktails, dinner and dancing at the elegant Chateau Marshal de Saxe in suburban Yerres.
Luca Liistro, an attorney with Chiomenti Studio Legale in New York described the reunion as “an opportunity to meet old friends and to make new ones. It was a confirmation that the Fordham faculty and staff work hard to build an educational organization that is, at the same time, a family.”
“Fordham LL.M. reunions bring together graduates from classes dating from the inception of the master program in 1989,” said Assistant Dean Estelle Fabian. “They afford our world-wide alumni great networking opportunities, as well as the chance to renew contacts with the faculty.”
The LL.M. program has recently held reunions in Belgium and in Prague. The LL.M. alumni will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first graduating class of the program in New York on June 12 and 13, 2009. There will be a reception at Fordham Law’s Lincoln Center campus on the 12th followed by a formal dinner at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center on the 13th.
