Who Are We Keeping Safe With The Communications Decency Act’s Safe Harbor?Joel Reidenberg in National Association of Attorneys General Summer Meeting, June 18, 2013
Professor Joel Reidenberg spoke at the National Association of Attorneys General Summer 2013 Meeting, where he discussed Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA). Reidenberg holds an opposing view on Section 230 as he is, "not a big fan."
Reidenberg explains that Section 230 was set in the context of the Communications Decency Act when the Internet was a fledgling industry. "Fifteen years later, when it is no longer a fledgling industry, we're seeing real harms to real people taking place online through defamation, sexual harassment, privacy violations, some tort negligence claims."
