Fordham Corporate Law Center is sponsoring the Inaugural Corporate Compliance Conference, titled ‘Managing Practitioner Risks in a Complex Global Environment' on Monday, April 2 at Fordham Law School in New York City.
Compliance officers, lawyers and government experts will examine hot-button issues in the area of corporate compliance and risk management. Keynote speaker Carlo V. Di Florio, Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, will discuss setting the tone at the top of the organization to foster "a culture of ethics." The conference will be split into the following six sessions:
· Compliance Essentials Before the Regulator Comes Knocking
· Risk Management
· Whistle Blowers and Dodd-Frank: The New Frontier
· Effective Compliance Training and Best Practices to Encourage Internal Reporting
· Auditing, Monitoring and Reporting on the Corporate Compliance Program to the Audit Committee of the Board and to the Corporate Officers
· Best Practices and Ethical Considerations in Corporate Compliance
Conference co-chairs include Carole Basri, Adjunct Professor, Fordham Law School; Senior Vice President B3 Legal LLC; President of the Corporate Lawyering Group LLC and the Corporate Lawyering Association, and Sean J. Griffith, T.J. Maloney Chair in Business Law and Director, Fordham Corporate Law Center, Fordham Law School.
