Dylan's Law

Fordham Law School in Westlaw News, April 08, 2011

Dylan’s law: A group of legal scholars fired up their amps this week, convening at Fordham Law School for a conference on “Bob Dylan and the Law,” the New York Times Dealbook reports. Attendees included David Zornow, who in addition to being head of litigation at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom is a serious Dylan devotee. At Fordham, Zornow presented a paper called “Dylan’s Judgment on Judges: Are Power, Greed and Corruptible Seed All That There Is?” Zornow’s paper takes the form of a mock indictment of judges brought by special assistant U.S. attorney Bob Dylan. The lyrics from “Joey” were particularly on point:  “What time is it?” said the judge to Joey when they met. “Five to ten,” said Joey. The judge says, “that’s exactly what you get.’”
