Fordham Law Appoints New Fundraising ChiefSeptember 21, 2010
Vera T. Bullock joined Fordham Law School as Assistant Dean for Advancement and AVP for External Relations on September 8, 2010.
Before joining Fordham Law, Bullock served as Director of Advancement and External Affairs at the Chapin School, where she was responsible for all fundraising, alumnae relations, publications and communications, and marketing. This included heading up Chapin's $75 million endowment campaign and managing a staff of 12. Prior to that, she was a Major Gifts Officer at Columbia University and worked in fundraising at The Brearley School.
“Fundraising is vitally important to ensuring the future of the School,” said Interim Dean Michael M. Martin. “We have enjoyed success in this area that is unprecedented in the history of the Law School, and I believe that Vera is just the person to keep the momentum going.”
Fordham Law School launched an ambitious $100 million fundraising campaign on Nov. 14, 2008. Just a year and half later, on May 15, 2010, the School reached the goal—and the campaign will continue until its official close in 2013.
“I am delighted to join the Fordham Law community, and I relish the opportunity to establish new benchmarks in fundraising,” said Bullock. “Already, I’ve been impressed by the friendliness and loyalty of the alumni, and I look forward to working closely with them to help advance Fordham Law’s mission and reputation.”
