New Loan Repayment Awards for 2009 Graduates

March 24, 2009

Class of 2009 graduates considering a job working in a government or nonprofit job are eligible to apply for a new loan repayment program that will award two graduates up to $12,500 per year for five years -- a total of $62,5000 -- in loan repayment assistance.

The Phillip Gordon and the Adele Gordon Public Service Loan Repayment Awards were established through an anonymous gift to enable interested students to pursue work in government or public interest careers without regard to law school debt. Structured similarly to the Fordham LRAP awards, the awards are renewable for up to five years if the graduate continues working in eligible employment and has remaining law school debt.

The competitive award program requires a brief application (PDF), as well as the following materials.
− Resume
− Unofficial transcript
− Statement entitled, "My Plans for Public Service, 2009-2015"

Completed applications must be delivered to the Development Office, Room 127, by Friday, April 10, 2009.
