 The Dean Acheson Legal Stage Program

Through the United States Embassy in Luxembourg Fordham Law is pleased to announce the Dean Acheson Legal Stage (traineeship/internship) Program at the Court of Justice of the European Communities.  These stage opportunities for periods of not more than three months are offered to a limited number of students or recent graduates from select U.S. law schools.

 High Court Internships

Fordham Law School offers select J.D. students the opportunity to intern at a number of national high courts around the world. These internships would take place over the summer and provide our students the chance to learn firsthand from distinguished judges in some of the world’s most exciting emerging economies. We believe that these experiences will immeasurably enrich the J.D. experience of participating students and will offer insights into countries and regions that will be increasingly important to law practice in the 21st century.

 Application Procedure

Before you Apply

In order to complete the application process, please have the following information ready to upload in either .pdf or MS Word formats:

• Resume or curriculum vitae;
• Unofficial Fordham Law School transcript;
• Statement of interest in the program(s) to which you are applying;
• Targeted cover letter(s); and
• Statement and/or proof of language proficiency, if required.

In addition, you will need to provide the name of one Fordham Law full-time faculty member who can speak of your qualifications for this position.

You will be directed off the Fordham Law website to the Adobe® Formscentral secure server.

Students interested in the Ghana or Korea programs should follow the application guidelines and procedures outlined on the respective program webpages, as indicated above. 

There will be a mandatory information session for J.D. students who are interested in pursuing study abroad or international internship opportunities.  Please refer to the student newsletter for updated announcements about the date, time and location of the meeting. The meeting is not mandatory for Korea or Ghana opportunities.
