After serving as Dean of Fordham College at Rose Hill from 1962 to 1974, he served as Vice President for the Lincoln Center campus from 1975 to 1993. From the mid-1980's until his death in November, 2005, Father McMahon proudly served as Moderator of the Fordham University Band, and from 1993 on he served as the University Chaplain. He was pleased to have the residence hall at Lincoln Center named McMahon Hall in his honor.
