Association of Black Women Lawyers of New Jersey
Bernadine Johnson-Marshall and Martha Bell Williams Scholarships, named for the first two African-American women admitted to the bar in New Jersey. Award amounts range from $2,500 - $5,000. Applicants must either reside in New Jersey and attend a law school in that state, or reside in New Jersey and attend a law school in a different state, or reside in a different state and currently attend a law school in New Jersey. The awards will be based on academic achievement, financial need, community service/civic involvement, and a brief writing sample and essay.
