American Bar Association Legal Opportunity Scholarship
The Scholarship is intended to encourage racial and ethnic minority students to apply to law school and to provide financial assistance to ensure that these students have the opportunity to attend law school. The applicant must be an entering, first- year law student in the 2013 academic year and this applies only to students beginning law school in the 2013academic year. Students who have completed one or more semesters of law school are NOT eligible. In addition, the applicant must have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 grading scale) as an undergraduate, and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. The fund will award $5,000 of financial assistance annually to each recipient and may be renewable for two additional years for a total of $15,000.
