Experience


Sean R. Weissbart is an attorney in the New York City office of the law firm of Morris & McVeigh LLP, where he counsels clients on a variety of trusts and estates matters, including estate and tax planning, administration of trusts and estates, and all aspects of litigation in Surrogate's Court. His practice also includes advising tax-exempt organizations on formation, applications for exemption, compliance with federal and state tax-exemption laws, and avoidance of excise taxes and the unrelated business income tax. Prior to joining Morris & McVeigh LLP, he practiced at the law firm of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP.

Mr. Weissbart’s articles have been featured in industry journals, including Estate Planning magazine. He currently sits on the executive committee of the trusts and estates law section of the New York State Bar Association and serves as associate editor of the section’s quarterly trusts and estates journal. As an active member of the New York City community, Mr. Weissbart serves on the Leadership Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the UJA Federation of New York and is the recipient of MFY Legal Services’ Justice Award for outstanding pro bono representation.
