Jenny Crawford is the Director of Social Work at the Bronx Defenders and supervises Social Workers working on teams with Criminal Defense Attorneys and Family Defense Attorneys to ensure team collaboration and appropriate client assessments. A fundamental element of her job is to facilitate interdisciplinary practice among social workers, lawyers, and other advocates. Before earning her Masters in Social Work at Columbia University, Jenny worked as Program Director for the Hamilton Family Center, a homeless shelter for families in San Francisco, overseeing all shelter provided services as well as worked with the Mayor's Office on Homelessness to ensure on-going city funding. During graduate school, Jenny gained further clinical skills at Boys and Girls Harbor in East Harlem, where she facilitated individual and family counseling, and at Manhattan Family Treatment Court, where she helped place substance-abusing parents into appropriate treatment. Jenny is bilingual in Spanish and English, and studied for a semester at the Universidad de Chile while an undergraduate at James Madison University.
