Professor Walker’s work focuses on the legal construction of identity and its influence on civil and criminal proceedings in American courts, on issues varying from race and racism to civil sexual offender statutes. Bela August Walker’s teaching and research interests include property, law & society, civil rights, critical race theory, family law, and law & sexuality.
