Negotiation Teams Dominate Regionals of ABA Negotiation CompetitionNovember 21, 2005
On November 12th and 13th, teams from all over the northeast gathered at New York Law School for the regional round of the ABA Negotiation Competition.
On the first day of competition, 24 teams competed in 2 rounds of intense negotiation. When the dust had settled, the judges determined that two of Fordham's three teams would move on to the finals along with a team from Touro and New York Law Schools.
Each team competed in one final round, and for the first time in history, Fordham took 1st and 2nd place overall.
Jean Patrick Antoine (2L) and Jennifer Polignone (2L) finished in first place with Scott Gleason (3L) and Chuck Xu (2L) taking second. A third team of Brian Rooder (3L) and Randi Feldheim (2L) competed admirably as well. Proud coach Bill Belitsky beamed, “Coming into the competition, I didn't know who my best team was because all three brought something different to the table. I had said that I wouldn't be surprised to have at least two teams make it to the finals and that's exactly what happened.” At least one of Fordham's teams will be competing in the finals in Chicago, IL in February.
Special thanks to former Competitions Editor Sarah Hagans (LAW .05), Professor White, Professor Bougher, Professor Nolan-Haley and all the supporters of the Society who helped make this competition such a success!
