Dispute Resolution Society Competes in ABA Negotiation Competition in Chicago

February 16, 2006

The Fordham Dispute Resolution Society competed in the ABA National Negotiation Competition in Chicago, IL this weekend. While The Society has earned a National invitation in each year of its existence, this event marked the first time two (2) of our squads made the trip. Indeed, only the University of Texas at Austin and The Thomas Jefferson School of Law were so represented.

H. Scott Gleason (LAW '06) and his partner Z. Charles "Chuck" Xu (LAW '07) competed against Vermont Law School and eventual-Finalist Seattle University School of Law. Jean-Patrick Antoine (LAW '07) and Jennifer Polignone (LAW '07) drew Willamette University College of Law and The University of Baltimore School of Law.

Mr. Antoine and Ms. Polignone were one of only two teams to record a perfect Round score on the day, during one of their two day one rounds and ended up finishing in eighth place overall. Xu and Gleason also competed well, but unfortunately did not advance to the finals.

Each National Competitor deserves our congratulations for their outstanding performance. Negotiation Team Editor William Belitsky (LAW '06) earns special praise for his tireless tutelage. A former Regional Champion and National competitor himself, Mr. Belitsky brought to bear a unique perspective which added immeasurable value to his colleagues.
