Society Attends Mediation Settlement Day Events at the EDNY

October 19, 2006

The Dispute Resolution Society attended the Mediation Settlement Day events at the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) today. The ADR Department of the EDNY presented a program, Avoiding Litigation about Mediation—a panel discussion moderated by Professor Harold Abramson of Touro Law School. Panelists included James R. Corbin, Associate Professor of Law and Director of Hamline Law School’s Dispute Resolution Institute, EDNY Magistrate Judge Robert M. Levy, and Peter R. Woodin, a member of the EDNY Panel of Mediators. Avoiding Litigation about Mediation was held in conjunction with Mediation Settlement Day, an event designed to promote mediation and to educate potential parties and attorneys about the mediation process. The Society was proud to be a part of these efforts to promote ADR principles in the local legal community.
