Fordham Successful in ABA Negotiation Regional CompetitionNovember 06, 2006
On November 4th and 5th, teams from law schools throughout the tri-state area gathered at St. John's University School of Law for the Regional round of the ABA Negotiation Competition.
After intense preparation, support and practice with the membership of Fordham's Dispute Resolution Society student group, Andrew Callahan (LAW '08) and Adrienne Reina (LAW '08) were one of four teams to advance to the final rounds on Sunday, November 5th. Facing a high-level of competition, their preparation and knowledge of negotiation theory was highly praised by the judges throughout each competition round.
Fordham finished second place overall, just behind Pace Law School. The University of Connecticut School of Law and Cardozo Law School placed third and fourth, respectively.
Fordham fielded a second student competition team, Andrew Weisberg (LAW '08) and Ilene Kalter (LAW '08), who similarly brought distinction to the Dispute Resolution Society, receiving recognition from the judges for their grasp of the issues and strategy used in both preliminary rounds.
Mr. Weisberg and Ms. Kalter fell only a few points short of advancement to the final rounds.
Jennifer Polignone (LAW '07) tirelessly coached both teams, offering her experience as a 2005 Regional Champion and national competitor.
