Karen is an Associate Director in the Career Planning Center and provides counseling to all J.D. students on their career development and job search. In addition, Karen coordinates the CPC’s Career Development programming and acts as the CPC’s point of contact for student organizations.
Karen received her law degree from DePaul University School of Law and her undergraduate degree (B.S., Special Education) from Rutgers University. Upon graduation from law school, she worked at Chadwell & Kayser in Chicago before returning to New York to take a position with Brown & Wood (now Sidley Austin LLP), where she became counsel in the securitization department. While at Sidley Austin, Karen participated in recruitment activities, mentored junior associates, taught professional development programs and worked with the women’s mentoring committee to address women’s issues throughout the firm. Additionally, Karen worked at IBM as an in-house counsel for five years.
Immediately prior to joining Fordham Law School, Karen worked as a consultant for A. Kershaw PC//Attorneys and Consultants, where she prepared training manuals and programs and assisted corporations in addressing e-discovery and data retention issues.
