Judge Paul Joseph Kelly, Jr. Invitational Trial Competition ResultsOn Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28, 2012, the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center at Fordham University School of Law hosted the second annual Judge Paul Joseph Kelly, Jr. Invitational Trial Competition at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.Two competitors from each of the participating schools were tasked with preparing both the prosecution and defense case for People of the State of Fordham v. Christopher Clarkson. Student competitors had fifteen minutes prior to trial to prepare witnesses (played by Fordham students) to testify. The judging panel consisted of sitting and former judges, assistant United States attorneys, assistant district attorneys, and practicing trial attorneys, including the Hon. Cathy Seibel, the Hon. Kevin N. Fox, the Hon. Lucian A. Vecchio, the Hon. Joseph Kevin McKay, the Hon. Douglas E. McKeon, the Hon. Kevin Tierney, Commissioner Edna Wells Handy, Christopher Flood, and Walter Mack. Congratulations to the 2012 Kelly Competition Champions, Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University, and the 2012 finalists, American University Washington College of Law. Congratulations also to University of California Davis School of Law and University of Miami School of Law for advancing to the semi-final round.
