Dean's Message

Welcome!

Welcome to Fordham Law School. Though it's impossible to introduce you fully to the School through our Web site, we hope it will give you a taste of Fordham's compelling approach to a complete legal education.

As Fordham Law School enters its second century of service, we celebrate a remarkable record of accomplishment. We are the 15th most selective law school in the country based on LSAT scores of our most recent graduating class. We are one of only six schools to have multiple top 20 programs in each of the three broad areas of legal education: critical substantive areas, basic practical skills areas, and theory, reflecting a rare breadth of strength shared only by Georgetown, Michigan, Northwestern, NYU, and Stanford.

Our outstanding student journals are some of the most-cited in the legal profession: the Fordham Law Review is the eighth most-cited in court cases, and the Fordham Urban Law Journal is the third most-cited  specialty journal. Fordham is nationally recognized for our outstanding moot court, trial advocacy, and negotiation teams.

As members of the legal profession, Fordham graduates are highly valued: Fordham has more lawyers at the nation's 25 most successful law firms than all but six schools, and we have consistently produced some of the finest judges, public servants, academics, business leaders, and practicing lawyers in the nation.

Greatness in a law school, however, is not measured simply in objective data, but in the merit of its mission. Fordham Law School is committed to an education that uniquely combines academic excellence, skilled lawyering, and the primacy of ethics and professionalism. Fordham educates lawyers to the highest standards of the legal profession and to the service of others.

It's a difference best experienced in person. We invite you to come visit us here on campus, and meet with our faculty and students - the people who make this an extraordinary place.
