European Alumni Chapter Academic Program and Dinner in Vienna (June 21 - 22, 2013) Saturday, June 22, 2013 Informal Walking Tours of Vienna Alumni Dinner News and Reminders22nd Annual Fordham Student Sponsored Fellowship Auction The 22nd Annual Fordham Student Sponsored Fellowship Auction will be held at on March 7th 2013, starting with a silent auction in the Platt Atrium at 6 p.m., followed by a live auction in the McNally Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m.Fordham Student Sponsored Fellowship is a student run non-profit organization that provides summer funding for Fordham Law students who want to pursue careers in public interest law. The organization was founded in 1988 with the goal of eliminating the financial burdens that can occur when students take public interest summer internships, which are traditionally unpaid. FSSF was largely inspired by the founding dean of Fordham Law School, Paul Fuller’s goal of educating lawyers acting “in the service of others.” The auction is FSSF’s main fundraising event and a highlight of the school’s social calendar where alumni, faculty, and students gather for delicious food, cocktails, and good-spirited bidding wars. Around $100,000 is raised annually and these funds, combined with a substantial donation from Fordham Law School, allow us to award over 30 fellowships each year. This translates to about 15,000 hours of public service. The success of FSSF depends on the participation of Fordham Law Alumni in the annual auction. The theme of this year’s auction is “Good Spirits, Great Cause!” To buy tickets online or to donate, please visit http://fssf.org/. We look forward to your help in continuing the tradition of strong alumni support.
