To apply to Fordham Law School as a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Law:

Step 1:

Apply through the Law School Admission Council or print it out and mail the completed Application Form (PDF) to our office. In order to expedite the application process, it is to your advantage to apply electronically through LSAC.

Mailing Address:
Fordham University School of Law
Admissions Office
33 West 60th Street
New York , NY 10023

Remember to sign and date it at the end.

Step 2:

Include a two page maximum personal statement single or double spaced (double spaced preferred). The personal statement should demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively and concisely. While you have the widest possible latitude in choosing the substance of your personal statements, experience shows that the most successful personal statements are those which develop a sense of the person, his or her values, aspirations, and concerns. A discussion of the unique contributions you would likely make to the student body, the legal profession, and ultimately the larger society, would also be well received.

Note: Additional materials such as videotapes, audio tapes, term papers, theses, dissertations, articles, memoranda of law, legal briefs, etc. cannot be considered, and will not be returned to the applicant.

Step 3:

Provide optional letters of recommendation. Fordham Law School does not require applicants to submit letters of recommendation. If you feel more comfortable submitting letters, please do so through the LSAC Letter of Recommendation Service that serves all member schools and is included as part of the LSDAS Registration subscription. Your letters will be photocopied and sent to us with your LSDAS Report.

Step 4:

Enclose a check or money order in the amount of $70 (payable to Fordham Law School) for the non-refundable application fee. If you are applying electronically through LSAC, you will need to pay this fee with a major credit card.
