Experience

David M. Jaffe is Director of Regulatory Examinations and Inquiries at Deutsche Bank Securities.  From September 2004 through July 2013, Mr. Jaffe was Regional Chief Counsel of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s (FINRA) New York Regional Office.  As Regional Chief Counsel, Mr. Jaffe oversaw administrative cases brought by FINRA”s Department of Enforcement for violations of the federal securities laws and FINRA rules.  Prior to joining FINRA, Mr. Jaffe was an attorney with the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) where he prosecuted violations of the Commodity Exchange Act in federal and administrative court.  Prior to his time at the CFTC, Mr. Jaffe was a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York and was in private practice.   Mr. Jaffe has taught Trial Advocacy at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) since 2002 and is a frequent speaker at industry and bar association conferences.  Mr. Jaffe graduated cum laude from St. John’s University and received his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
