Experience

Barnet Phillips recently retired from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he was a partner in the tax department for 30 years.  He was the first head of Skadden's REIT Practice Group.  His practice focused principally on corporate tax, (including mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy and recorganizations), real estate investment trusts, real estate and partnership taxation and charitable, non-profit organizations.  He is the author of the BNA Portfolio entitled Structuring Corporate Acquisitions -- Tax Aspects. 
 
Barnet is a graduate of Yale University, Fordham Law School where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review, and holds an LL.M in tax from NYU, where he was a graduated editor of the Tax Law Review.
