Doreen Small is a founding partner of Marquart & Small, LLP and a highly regarded intellectual property lawyer specializing in the fields of fashion, arts and entertainment. Along with Ali Grace Marquart, she created and teaches the first ever course in Fashion Modeling Law at the Fashion Law Institute.
Ms. Small has served as in-house counsel for a number of major fashion and entertainment companies, most recently as Vice President/General Counsel for Ford Models, Inc. where she served on the Board and produced the Supermodel of the World global talent search. She has also served as Associate General Counsel for Warnaco Inc. and as Senior Intellectual Property Counsel for NBC where her clients included Saturday Night Live and Late nIght.
Ms. Small began her career as an associate in the intellectual property group at Weil Gotshal & Manges and has been Counsel at Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe.
Ms. Small serves on the Advisory Board of the Model Alliance, as an Executive Advisor to ARTDEX and on the Acquisitions and Nominating Committes of the MoMA's Contemporary Arts Council.
She is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School where she was a member and editor of the Brooklyn Law Review.
