MYFOXNY.COM - Nearly two years after announcing that the trials of the accused 9/11 conspirators would be held in lower Manhattan, the Obama administration did an about face on Monday and said they were being moved to Guantanamo Bay.

One of the fiercest opponents to the original plan was Julie Menin, President of the Lower Manhattan Community Board One.

"I suggested we move it to Randall's Island. (Mayor Bloomberg) said it was the dumbest thing he had ever heard. The mistake Holder made was not checking with the NYPD," said Menin during Good Day New York on Tuesday.

Now that the trial will be moved outside the United States Good Day asked former federal prosecutor Anne Marie McAvoy to describe the potential impact of a military trial versus a civilian trial.

"Besides security issues, you have concerns over whether he'll get convicted. There are issues with Khalid Sheikh Mohammad being water boarded," said McAvoy.
